Cookies & Device Storage
How sign-in, preferences, offline work, and temporary caches use your browser or device.
Revision: September 15, 2026 · Review draft
1. Technologies we use
Promptlyr uses cookies, local storage, session storage, IndexedDB, and mobile app files. Cookies are small records associated with a website; the other technologies can store preferences and larger files or application data. Some stored data is sent back to our services for authentication and synchronization.
2. What is stored and why
- Sign-in and security: authentication/session information used by Promptlyr and Supabase to recognize your account and keep requests authorized. Treat devices containing a signed-in session as access to your account.
- Preferences: theme, appearance, onboarding state, selected models, planner and dashboard settings, and other choices that help the interface remember how you use it.
- Offline work and performance: chat history caches, study information, notes, document assets, ink or annotation changes, previews, and synchronization state. Some of these copies contain personal information and can remain after a browser session ends.
- Temporary interface state: drafts and session-specific choices. Lifetimes vary by feature and browser behavior; “temporary” does not establish a universal deletion deadline.
3. Third-party technologies
When you use external authentication or Stripe checkout, those providers may use cookies and related technologies on their pages or embedded components. External images or other resources may also send your IP address and request information to their hosts. App stores and device services have their own storage and privacy settings.
We do not use your information for advertising or sell it. This notice does not claim that usage data is automatically anonymous. If we introduce nonessential tracking that requires consent, we must give the required notice and obtain consent before it starts; ordinary acceptance of the Terms is not that consent.
4. Your controls
Use browser settings to block or delete cookies and site data. Device settings can manage app permissions and app storage. Blocking essential authentication storage can prevent sign-in or synchronization. Clearing local data may permanently remove unsynchronized notes, drafts, or files, so export or synchronize important work first.
Deleting local storage or uninstalling the app does not delete cloud records or cancel a subscription. Cloud deletion is covered by the Privacy Policy. Downloads, backups made by your operating system, and exported files may require separate deletion.
We do not have a separate response to the browser’s legacy Do Not Track setting. We do not sell or share information for cross-context behavioral advertising; applicable legally recognized opt-out signals must be respected for processing to which they apply.
